Orientation workshop on implementation of SANKALP program for District Employment Officers and MGNFs
Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) is Government of India scheme to improve quality of the skill development programmes in the country. CGG is knowledge partner of Department of Employment & Training, GoTS for implementation of the scheme in the state. As part of the Scheme, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GoI has deputed interns, termed as Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows (MGNF) in each of the districts to promote best practices in the domain of skilling.
As part of the programme, CGG in association with DET organized an Orientation workshop on implementation of SANKALP program for District Employment Officers and MGNFs.
Sri Rajendra Nimje, DG, CGG, as the Chief Guest, addressed the participants and detailed the importance of skill development for livelihood promotion, especially in the rural areas.
Ms. K. Usha, Joint Director, DET addressed the participants and oriented them with the functions of TOMCOM and other activities of DET.
Mr. S. Raja, Deputy Director, DET and nodal officer of SANKALP programme in Telangana presented on various Skill Development activities undertaken by DET and called upon the DEOs to guide MGNFs in implementation of various Skill Development Programs in the districts, especially in implementation of SANKALP Scheme.
Mr. Avnish Rana, Program Manager, MGNF, IIM Udaipur gave directions to MGNFs on activities that are to be undertaken as part of SANKALP program.
