Celebrating International Women’s Day at CGG
To celebrate women's power, achievements and honour their contributions to the society, CGG is organising various activities at its Gachibowli office premises.
A special leave was given to CGG women employees as per Govt. of Telangana orders. The Celebrations started on 9th March with the traditional cake cutting ceremony, followed by impromptu speeches by the young & enthusiastic women employees of CGG, who surprised the audience on a diverse range of topics ranging from their own personal experiences; Socioeconomic impact of female education; role of women in society; promoting safety and security measures for women etc.
This session was followed by ‘Leadership Talk’ by CGG’s two women Directors, Ms Maadhavi Sriram and Ms Jyothi V, who spoke on how gender equity leads to actual gender equality and safe working cultures.
The session concluded with a much awaited speech by Sri Rajendra Nimje, Director General, CGG, who shared this years theme for the UN International Women’s Day – ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.’ He explained how this theme is aligned with the priority theme for the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67), “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”. While he discussed his own personal experiences, which made it simple for the audience to relate, he emphasized the need for female employees to be truly independent and to make their own choices, particularly regarding financial decisions.
