Position: Senior Database Administrator(Oracle) for Datacentre

CGG is conducting Online Interviews for Senior Database Administrator (Oracle)

Experience

  • Should have an experience of over 7+ year’s solid experience in DBA (Oracle) of latest versions.
  • Experience with cloud-based Oracle environments like AWS – RDS is a plus.

Educational Qualification

  •  M. Tech, MCA, B.E (Comp), B. Tech with 60% marks.

Certification  

  • Must be in Oracle 11g / 12c / 19c and above, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) on Database Administrator
  • Any Certification related to AWS – RDS (Oracle) on configuration / Operations are desirable.

Roles &Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and update Oracle database software.
  • Database Environments: Set up and manage database environments for development, testing, and production.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee mount points, physical spaces, and ensure proper space and size management of DB servers.
  • Database Design & Tuning: Design databases based on project requirements, maintain and fine-tune databases for optimal performance.
  • Schema Management: Handle schema creation, import/export operations, and manage schema access via triggers.
  • Tablespace & Privileges: Create tablespaces, manage datafiles, and grant privileges as needed.
  • Issue Resolution: Address issues related to inactive sessions, long-running queries, and other database activities.
  • Archiving & Backup: Monitor and manage archive logs, backups, and ensure old archives are removed periodically.
  • Error Handling: Monitor alert log files, trace errors, and manage database links.
  • Automation & Migration: Develop and maintain automated schedules, handle database migrations, and cloning as needed.
  • Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies, conduct regular backup tests, and ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Security: Ensure database security compliance, implement encryption, auditing, and monitoring measures.
  • Upgrades: Plan and execute database upgrades, including testing and validation to keep all components up-to-date.

This role is crucial for maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of Oracle databases within the CGG and cloud environments.
