Orientation workshop on implementation of SANKALP program for District Employment Officers and MGNFs
Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) is Government of India scheme to improve quality of the skill development programmes in the country. CGG is knowledge partner of Department of Employment & Training, GoTS for implementation of the scheme in the state. As part of the Scheme, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GoI has deputed interns, termed as Mahatma Gandhi National Fellows (MGNF) in each of the districts to promote best practices in the domain of skilling.
As part of the programme, CGG organized an Orientation workshop on implementation of SANKALP program for District Employment Officers and MGNFs.
Sri Rajendra Nimje, DG, CGG, as the Chief Guest, addressed the Workshop and detailed the importance of skill development for livelihood promotion, especially in the rural areas. He stressed upon the role that DEOs and MGNFs need to play for the benefits to reach the deserving beneficiaries and the difference that they can make to individuals, society and country. DG, CGG has called upon the young MGNFs to utilise the opportunity of being placed at the grassroots level at very beginning stage of their career and called upon them to learn from the field that can be useful for them in their career. Further, he has advised them to understand the ecosystem and contribute their ideas for betterment of service delivery. DG, CGG has motivated DEOs & MGNFs by quoting his personal experiences working at district level and how the challenges were addressed innovatively.
