Shri N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated the new building of Centre for Good Governance (CGG) at its Gachibowli campus. Shri A. Ramanarayana Raddy, the Honorable Finance Minister of the state, Smt. Minnie Mathew, IAS, Chief Secretary, Dr. P. K. Mohanty, CCLA, Shri Dinesh Reddy, IPS, DG of Police, and Shri S. K. Sinha, IAS, DG, CGG also took part in this inaugural ceremony along with other senior officials of the state.
The inauguration of the new building was followed by a workshop on "Citizen's Charters and Right to Service Delivery Act for Secretaries and Heads of Departments of Government of Andhra Pradesh" in the seminar hall of CGG. At the outset, the DG, CGG welcomed all dignitaries and delegated and presented the draft legislation on Right to Service Delivery. Read more.
Then the Commissioner, Commercial Tax; the Commissioner, Civil Supplies and the Commissioner and Director, Municipal Administration presented their citizen's charters developed in consultation with CGG.
The presentations were followed by addresses by the Honorable Finance Minister and the Honorable Chief Minister respectively. While the Finance Minister emphasized the need for involving people's representatives in preparation of citizen's charters, the Chief Minister exhorted to pilot test the charters of selected departments in one district of Telengana, Rayalaseema and Andhra region each to ascertain their effectiveness and improve upon gaps, if any before finally implementing them in the whole state.
The workshop ended with a vote of thanks presentation by the ADG of CGG.
